Oracle Data Integrator 11g - Part III (Creating Repositories)

You can find the installation steps of Oracle Data Integrator 11g  in my previous articles. And today, I’m going to demonstrate creating repositories and then start a new project by using Oracle Data Integrator 11g.
The first difference is about the user interface. There’s only one interface that you use to connect Topoloy Manager, Designer etc. So when you open the tool, you’ll have to choose the Master Repository. If the repository doesn’t exist, then you’ll have to create the repositories. And the first will be “Master Repository”. Just to remind you that all the objects that are created by using Topology Manager and Security Manager will be stored in the Master Repository.

When you click the “Master Repository Creation Wizard”, it’s going to ask you to specify the database connection settings in the next 3 pages.

Once the Master Repository is created, you’re going to user Topology Manager to create the Work Repository. Work Repositories should be attached to the Master Repository. So before creating the work repository, you have to connect to Master Repository.

As you’ll see in the previous image, the connection is established. And you’ll start to create the work repository from the “Topology Manager”. Again you’ll specify the connection details.

Now you have created both repositories. So you can start using Designer tool in order to start a new project. So you’re going to create the data sources and target databases by using “Topology Manager”.
